Remember as a kid....
How excited or nervous you were when you went off
to camp during the summer?
Or maybe as a teenager you attended a retreat
far away from home (so that your youth director could
get you away from your parents)?
Even now as an adult, do you enjoy getting away
for a weekend with friends or family
to spend some quality time together?
All these experiences are important in
nurturing spiritual growth and development.
In the Bible....
We see that on many occasions Jesus
"withdrew by Himself", (Luke 9:10) to be with God.
In order to sharpen and maintain our focus as Christians,
we also need to "withdraw" to seek God.
It is understood that this should be a vital part of our daily experiences,
but from time to time we need a place to get out of our comfort zone
for the "soul" purpose of meeting with God.
Nestled in the woods....
Along the banks of Blackwater there is such a place.
The newly renovated and expanded facilities at the
James and Nell Dotson Walker Baptist Campground
10 miles north of Jasper on Highway 5.
The James and Nell Dotson Camp can serve all your
camping, teaching, and recreational needs.
